About Nicole

Nicole was born in 2001. Nicole began painting in water-colors when she was only one year and three months old.

Painting became her passion very quickly. Years later she started to use gouache in her paintings and absolutely refused to use pencils or crayons. Nicole became acquainted with acrylic at age four. She used cardboard and was not satisfied with the results.

Only when she tried canvas she became a very productive artist. She attends school and experiences the same joys and sorrows as any child her age. She enjoys reading, dancing, ballet and theatre, but is at her most joyful and expressive in front of the canvas.Painting for Nicole means to express her life and her feelings, child’s philosophical ideas and fantastic images.

Nicole creates a unique world which surprises and pleases, forces the viewers to experience and gives them food for thought. Nicole paints everything that pops into her mind and touches her heart. All her paintings were created from her own imagination. When Nicole gets an idea, she initially comes up with a title for her new painting.

After that she verbally explains what she is going to paint and in which colors. Then she starts to create the artwork. The subjects of her paintings are based on her own life and emotional experience or stories which she loves.

The blank canvas is the beginning of her inspiration. From the whiteness a black dot appears and turns into a line and into a shape and finally into many shapes.

The shapes then fill themselves with colours, crossing and blending with each other. Now the shapes turn onto Nicole’s picture. Color can be perceived in different ways and expressed through thought and design.

Colors in Nicole's paintings mould the form of a subject, represent the beauty of the world around, express feelings, the moods and certain emotional conditions. Red color in Nicole's art could be raising, warming, recovering, active, vigorous; yellow color - warm, invigorating, cheerful, attractive; orange color - cheerful, joyful, ardent, kind.

It is rich with associations and green color; it creates quiet, pleasant and peaceful mood. But color can not only please Nicole, and cause irritation, alarm, feeling of melancholy or grief. Violet color connects emotional influence of red and dark blue colors - it is simultaneously both drawing and pushing away, full of a life and at the same time causing melancholy and grief.

Nicole’s favorite colors are orange, yellow, pink and red. Many painting processes offer Nicole pleasant sensations: direct contact with paint, comparison of color of paint with surrounding subjects and nature, reception of shades by means of whitewash and waters, mixture of paints for reception of new color. Nicole is a painter unrestricted by a certain genre, creating an enchanted Universe, however she is most productive in abstract painting.

From time immemorial it happened that a person would draw something without giving any identification: hyphens, scrolls and ringlets. The abstraction has allowed expressing strong emotions. The abstract artist does not try to represent a reality anymore, but the artist imagination and emotions conduct figure and inspire a choice of color. In her works Nicole tries to express her feelings through design of a line and harmony of color. She feels great joy when she touches the white canvas with her brush.
